Michelle McDougall
Michelle Carrie McDougall is a Nervous System Practitioner and the founder of the MyShelle Method, a somatic approach that integrates bodywork, neurodevelopment, and coaching to support lasting behavioral and emotional change.
Her work was born from her personal journey as a mother. While navigating her son’s developmental challenges, Michelle was introduced to Neurodevelopmental Primitive Reflex Integration and began to see firsthand how early nervous system patterns shape movement, behavior, emotional responses, and learning. This experience became the foundation of her work and continues to inform her approach today.
The MyShelle Method is built on four core pillars: Neurodevelopmental Primitive Reflex Integration, Touch for Health, Conscious Education Coaching, and Somatic Focalizing Meditation. Together, these modalities allow Michelle to work with both the body and mind—addressing the underlying nervous system patterns that often drive stress responses, habits, and relational dynamics.
With additional training in various bodywork, Michelle specializes in helping clients shift out of survival-based patterns such as fight, flight, freeze, and fawn by working directly with the body’s reflexes and sensory systems. Her approach goes beyond traditional regulation tools by targeting the foundational “wiring” of the nervous system, supporting more sustainable and integrated change.
Michelle also leads educational workshops centered around her signature Somatic Compression Reset, teaching simple, body-based techniques that individuals can use to support their own nervous system regulation. Her work focuses primarily on women, supporting them through key life transitions—from adolescence and identity formation, through pregnancy and motherhood, into perimenopause, menopause, and the grand mothering years. These workshops emphasize a self-help approach, empowering participants to understand their bodies and access the body’s natural capacity to self-regulate and heal when the right conditions are created.
Michelle works with adults navigating stress, life transitions, relationship challenges, and identity shifts, offering both in-person sessions and online coaching programs. She is also the creator of Nervous System Bestie, a supportive coaching community designed to help individuals build awareness, develop practical tools, and create meaningful, lasting change.
From survival patterns to embodied capability, Michelle’s work supports clients in reconnecting with their bodies and stepping into their most natural state of confidence.
